Toys R Us Invasion + Midtown Comics

Hullo All!

I'm determined to tell you guys about more of the stuff I've been backlogged with before another set of events pile up behind it! I've been so engrossed with art recently. I'll tell you guys about that next!

So remember when my brother and I went to the Harry Potter: The Exhibition? Well, we finished the exhibition pretty early so we decided to walk around in the area near by. Naturally as Discovery Times Square was, well, near Times Square, we decided to go into one of the stores that we have yet to visit: Toys R Us!

We haven't gone into this store even during our first ever time in New York back in 2001. The only other time I remember going to a Toys R Us was in HongKong when we were much younger!

Finally, I see the famous Ferry's Wheel inside!

All the expensive iPhone cases! ;__;

Not a bit Adventure Time fan but I couldn't help but be amused!

Ugly Dolls! No, that's really what they're called.

My brother loooves pandas!

Shocked, serious and crazy-eyed owls!

Monster High dolls! I have to admit, these are really tempting! Darn you, Mattel!

Ninja photo of a baby! But, whoops, she saw me!

Calico Critters are so cute!!! Look, hedgehog!!!

I want all of the Schliech animal figurines! All of them.

Avengers/Comic book hero section! Had the most number of parents shopping for their little boys!

OMG blast from the past! Furby has got to be one of the creepiest toys they've ever come out with. Why did they put it back on the market?! These are the things that Haunted Stitch Dolls are made of. ;__;

This FurReal doll is similar to my very, very first toy! I can't believe things like this are still around! They bark, robotically sit and then do a backflip!

Disney Princess dolls!!!

I apologize for my brother. =_=

My favorite princesses next to each other! Destiny!

Now this is actually a really pretty Barbie doll--it reminds me of her looks back in the 90's. But then you look at her label and realize:

It's actually a Bella Swan Barbie. Why, Mattel, why?

However, awesome Sinatra and Elvis Barbies!

Jurassic Park in the building!!!

It's going to eat me!

Save us, Spiderman! (Trivia: he's my favorite Marvel super hero--and then X-Men)

Cutie kiddies getting their photo with the T-Rex!

Toy Story section! I want a replica of the actual Woody and Buzz!

Hello, Sheriff! Reach for the skies!

Look, doesn't it remind you of Sugar Rush from Wreck-It Ralph?

After our look around Toys R Us (it was chaotic because it was already the holiday shopping season so we got out of there without buying anything. My brother and I kept walking around just looking for any new and interesting place before we found this:

Pretty much all of the comic book store from the Big Bang Theory came into my head.

All the comic and art books! The store was made of two floors! Both had awesome comics--new and old, as well as other graphic novel-related merchandise!

They have manga! Most of it is complete too which is so rare! It was quite a small section compared to the rest of their store though (but that's understandable).

My brother looking through all of the comics! There were so many issues here it was actually overwhelming! I ended up looking at the other merchandise (figurines, caps, shirts) rather than the comics themselves!

I didn't skimp on this section though: The Independent Comics section! You never know what gems here end up becoming the next big thing in graphic novels! These are how I got starte drawing and they're forever a refreshing source of inspiration.

In fact: looking through the independent section of the comics was how I found F.A.B.L.E.S in the first place! And that was also how I got acquainted with James Jean, one of my favorite artists! Seriously, make sure to also look through these--some stories have a lot of potential!

And with that, I end this post. Next post will be all about The Project For Awesome that just finished! Stay tuned!

On Artwork and Tumblr

Hullo All!

My hands and brain are not fast enough to update this blog with all the things! But trust me when I say that I have a bunch of stuff lined up. There have already been about a thousand visits to my blog and I'm quite happy about that! Yey!

*pulls party poppers*

But as we all (including me) wonder when I'll have my next post up, I wanted to talk about art a bit. :)

I have an "Art" section on this page *points up* that let's you see some of the work I've done, but I also wanted to let you know that the works I put up here may not be as extensive as those that I will be putting up on my main "Art Blog" (aka. Tumblr).

You can check out that link here:

The link above contains more of my work, including sketches. I'm doing this so that things will be more organized! :) I have a few personal/life posts there too from before I set up this blog here. But other than that, it's all art goodness! :)

If you want to see what kind of stuff I reblog on Tumblr, you can head on over to my "Reblogging Tumblr" for all the fandom and crazy that I get obsessed about!

That link is here:

So yes! Follow me if you'd like--if you enjoy the same things I do or appreciate my ever changing "art style." I appreciate and would love to see you there! Yey!

Michael's: The First Visit

Hullo all!

As you can probably already tell from the title, I went into Michael's (the craft store) for the first time ever!

I've always heard a lot about it, and people that knew of it already foresaw my happiness the day I finally stepped into the place. So, people pretty much preempted my perception of the place--and they were not wrong!

So excited when I saw this place in West Virginia! It was Thanksgiving so there were hardly any people inside (they were probably thinking of raiding the place on Black Friday).

The first section I saw inside! Any DIY jewelry maker would be sure to enjoy this!

A whole bin of Duck Tape! I always only knew duct tape to come in only one design. For sure, I've never seen these back home! I mean, look at them all.

I mustache you if you've ever seen tape like this before!

I'm not a fan of Spongebob, but even I was amused by this!

I can now fully understand why Karen Kavett, one of my favorite people online, is so enthralled by tape! Had I more money, I would have started a tape collection right then and there!

Pretty craft paper designs! This design, in particular, reminded me of Austen novels. (● ♡ ∀ ♡)

Seriously, there were just so many designs that I figured taking photos of each and every single one of them would amount to me just taking inventory of the whole store, so I was very selective with the things I took photos of.

I'm not a big Hello Kitty fan either, but sticker sets just make me feel happy and childlike (I once had this amazing Lisa Frank sticker collection that I stuck on a photo album).

Crafting and baking books! Just look at that cover of Hello, Cupcake(ღ ˘ ⌣ ˘ ღ)

Fairytale anything makes me want to buy it! I wonder what the other cake designs inside this book are!

Anyone creating a manga?

So many cute Christmas decorations!!! Guys, you have no idea what restraints I had to have to avoid buying all the pastel-colored decorations in Michael's. Next Christmas, mark my words!

Letter stencils! All types of font! This would be super great if you were making some of your own shirts using acrylic paint!

Sketch pads! I have this weird thing with sketchpads wherein I always want a new one even if I'm barely halfway through my current one. :|

Prismacolor, Y U so expensive! (屮ಠ益ಠ)屮

One day you shall be mine!

You too Copic markers! ;_;

Sharpies! I have a special relationship with these--they kept me company throughout most of my college life by helping me plan my days on my organizers.

OMGGGG. Pastel colors! Sharpie, you understand me!

Christmas flowers! My mom and I spent the most time at Michael's looking through the floral section.

Because, unfortunately, we find it hard to take care of live plants. ;_; So, to decorate our place without killing poor plants, we opted to get some artificial flowers instead.

Get the hydrangeas in all the colors! I seriously love the color selection they had here! If it weren't for the lack of fragrance, I would have thought myself to be in a real garden!

Lilies! Okay, this is serious talk guys. I will get married with white lilies and pastel colors as my theme.
(* ≧ ▽ ≦) *

My reason for loving lilies so much!
Do you get the hint? ;)

I am so definitely going back to this store when we go and visit for Christmas! I better buy some organizing boxes and shelves too because I can feel a collection starting to brew!
